1. PURPOSE
This document establishes the standards of ethical conduct for all personnel at ilnido Montessori Preschool, in compliance with State of Florida regulations for private educational institutions participating in state scholarship programs.
This document is mandatory for:

Teaching staff
-
Administrative staff
-
Support staff
-
Directors and owners
-
Contractors with direct contact with students.
Its implementation is a requirement for participation in scholarship programs administered by the State of Florida—including those managed by Step Up For Students—and for operating as a private educational institution offering levels up to Kindergarten.
2. INSTITUTIONAL PRINCIPLES
At ilnido Montessori Preschool, all professional conduct must be guided by:

Absolute respect for the dignity of the child

Promotion of autonomy and holistic development

A safe, prepared, and emotionally healthy environment

Integrity, transparency, and professional responsibility

Commitment to child protection.
Responsibility toward the student requires that educational personnel:
a. Make reasonable efforts to protect the student from conditions detrimental to learning and/or to their mental, physical, and/or safety.
b. Not unjustifiably restrict the student's independent action in the pursuit of learning.
c. Not unjustifiably deny the student access to diverse points of view.
d. Not intentionally suppress or distort content relevant to the student's academic program.
e. Not intentionally subject the student to unnecessary embarrassment or disparagement.
f. Not intentionally violate or deny the student's legal rights.
g. Not harass or discriminate against any student on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, national or ethnic origin, political beliefs, marital status, disability status, sexual orientation, or social and family background; and shall make reasonable efforts to ensure that every student is protected from harassment or discrimination.
h. Not exploit the relationship with the student for personal benefit or advantage.
i. Maintain the confidentiality of personally identifiable information obtained in the performance of your professional duties, except when its disclosure serves professional purposes or is required by law.
Mindful of the importance of maintaining the respect and trust of colleagues, students, parents, and the community, employees of our institution must demonstrate the highest level of ethical conduct. This commitment requires that they:
a. Maintain honesty in all professional relationships.
b. Not deny a colleague professional benefits or advantages, nor participation in professional organizations, on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, national or ethnic origin, political beliefs, marital status, disability status (if qualified), or social and family background.
c. Not interfere with a colleague's exercise of their civil or political rights and responsibilities.
d. Not engage in harassing or discriminatory conduct that unjustifiably interferes with professional performance or educational processes, or that creates a hostile, intimidating, abusive, or offensive environment; furthermore, they must make reasonable efforts to ensure the protection of every individual against such conduct.
e. Not make malicious or intentionally false statements about a colleague
